But anyway, I came home that afternoon after my wife had called me asking what the ugly nylon thing was that I got in the mail. Women. Can’t live with them, can’t kill them. I put the belt on a little after noon. i noticed it was a considerable amount more rigid than my Beltman belt. Of course I have wore it every day for about two years. Have really not taken care of it like I should have either. But had not really noticed it being loose until putting on the new belt. So I put the belt on, leaving it loose. I then slide my Theis IWB holster (think Crossbreed) down inside my pants, put my G17 back into it, tuck my shirt back in, tighten up my belt. First thing I notice is that the Uncle Mike Holsters is not as thick as the beltman and where it goes around the holster is not sticking out as far. I also like where the velcro strap goes back around you it covers one of the clips from the holster. Atleast that just leaves one that can be seen. I take off out the door to work. I notice over the course of the night that I never pull or reposition the holster. The butt of the weapon is pulled very tightly into me.

It is comfortable and accessible. I like it. The problem is that the G27 has such a short barrel that there is nothing to lever the butt of the gun back against my torso. A Glock G23 would have enough barrel to do that, but the grip is longer. In any event I would like to get the butt of the gun to ride closer to the torso.

5/17/2008 1:45:16 AM Sorrie that i didnt go into much detail in describing my situation. First off, i have yet to lay my hands on my upper so i cant see how my gas block is mounted. YEs i said gas block, not FSB. I have the cmmg micro gas block. Why you may ask… well because ultimately i would like to have a longer 12″ ff rail hand guard on the upper with the micro gas block entirely underneath. I’m hoping to get the 12″ omega when(read “if”) it is released from Daniel Defense. Currently, the upper is set up with standard midlength Magpul Handguards behind the micro gas block. I have ordered it in this configuration because i as of yet do not have the funds for modified ff handguards, and i’d rather not buy a cheaper one when i have my heart set on the DD omega(or lite rail if 12″ omega is vaporware). I plan on keeping the standard hand guards on until both a) i have the money and b) the omega is released. Keeping this in mind, i will later have to remove my standard Magpul Handguards and install either the omega or lite rail. With the longer 12″ length it will not fit into position with the larger diameter standard end cap in place. THus i have to remove. HOwever, since i have no idea how to remove the cmmg gas block yet, i was hoping the end cap could be removed without the removal of the gas block. So to restate my original question, “Can a standard round end cap be removed without removing the fsb or gas block that is currently mounted?” If i take a look at the gas block and it turns out to be a cinch to take it off, then this really doesn’t matter. But i’m sure you can understand teh excitement i have as this is my first AR. So i was seeking the assistance from all of you that make up the vast pool of knowledge here at ar15.com. I stated in the original post “front sight base” to keep from having to go into this much detail. i figured, “i want to remove end cap, and not remove fsb” would be sufficient to illicit suggestions. Apparently, some peopel took me to be some sort of mechanically uninclined retard. I assure this is not the case. I am more than capable of working with tools and confident in my ability to work with precision. I simply do not know what entails removing the cmmg micro gas block and a search here turned up empty. Hopefully this answers all of the questions all your questions. DOn’t you hate it when people answer a question with a question? MMcfpd [Life Member] 5/17/2008 2:49:24 AM That’s a different situation than that of dealing with an FSB. Below are some shots of a CMMG Micro gas block: As you can see, there are two pins securing it on the bottom, and they’re not going to tap out as would FSB pins. They don’t look like screws or hex nuts, but then it’s 1:50 in the morning and these eyes are usually snoozin’ at this time. Frankly I’m not sure how to go about removing said block. I think I’ll just leave that one right where it is. If you’re waiting on an upper that you’ve already ordered from CMMG, you’ll probably be best advised to just call them and explain what you’ll be wanting to do. They’ve accomodated me in the past. As someone noted above, you can cut the cap off as a last resort. ORinTX

The class consist of some local LEO and a few MARSOC guys that had part of their shooter package during the weekdays at the range with Surefire and stay to send some more rounds down range. I ran the pistol grip on my PWS/LMT piston upper running Diemaco C8A2 barrel. The pistol grip performs extremely well. The folding mechanism is both will made and very durable. Myself and one MARSOC operator took the rifle with the pistol grip and ran through the o-course with the intend to destroy the folding mechanism without any success. The pistol grip definitely held up to some beating.
